Subject: Linux SIG meeting Tuesday Feb 19, 2008

Linux is the revolution that is becoming the computer operating system of
the future! Say good bye to expensive proprietary operating systems,
viruses, worms, crashes, forced upgrades, infuriating popups & get a better,
complete Linux operating system with all the applications you need for a
very affordable price. Now is the time to make the move to Linux. We welcome
you to join us.

The February 19, 2008 Linux SIG meeting is on the 3rd Tuesday of the month
at the Lakewood Fire Station, 5000 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
(by the water tower & on the West side of the complex) in Training Room #2.
Doors open by 6:30 PM for setup. Super fast T-1 internet connections
available. We will look at the new released Linux distributions including
OpenSUSE 10.3 with One Click Software Install, Mepis Linux 7.00 (which runs
on Debian & Kubuntu and adds improvements), Puppy Linux 3.01 for old/low
capacity computers, flash drives, etc, Kubuntu 7.10 & Fedora 8. We will
review the Grand Unified Bootloader (GRUB) boot menu and running your
computer functions plus HDTV on one screen.

As always, you are encouraged to use Linux as your operating system since
Linux is much more secure and more affordable than proprietary software and
the best solution for home or office use. You can run Linux on all
off-the-shelf standard hardware from new back to approx. Pentium I. The goal
is to get you started or advanced with Linux. We are Linux distribution
neutral and try out all sorts of Linux distributions. Our focus is to get
all proprietary Windows and Mac users switched to open source Linux. We
encourage trying out different Linux distributions since they all bring new
ideas to the community.
